Today is both the start of the Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season and the first day of Hurricane Preparedness Week. Today's topic is "Determine Your Risk". Not only those who live near coastal areas where these storms occur, but areas well inland can also be impacted greatly by hurricanes. Flooding, winds, and tornadoes can also impact areas inland from hurricanes. This graphic shows the different risks from hurricanes. The U.S. has not been impacted by a major hurricane (Category 3 or higher) since Wilma way back in October 2005 and it is overdue. Folks along the coast likely become complacent that major hurricanes can not affect them, but all it take is one storm! Tomorrow's topic will be on "Develop an Evacuation Plan".
Thoughts on major weather events, severe weather events, and/or changes to the company.
